Vicars Newsletter for the 24th April

Dear all,

Here are the notices for this week.  (The Sunday Service link is in the previous email.)

Morning Prayer on Facebook from Monday to Thursday at 9am
I am planning to lead a live-streamed, said service of Morning Prayer from Monday to Thursday (27th - 30th) this week at 9.00AM.
You can join in (or listen in) by going to this link at the appropriate time.

Here is the Facebook link for Monday to Thursday Morning Prayer at 9am:

If you have a mobile and use apps you can download the daily prayers on this free app -- 'Daily Prayer from the C.of E.'
It will open on your phone for the correct day.

NB This is simply a 4-day trial to see whether there is any demand for this weekday service online in the benefice.

Also this Sunday:
The Bishops of Whitby, Hull and Selby will once again be offering short moments of prayer during the day at 12.00 noon, 4.00pm and 8.00pm, which can as usual now be accessed via Facebook (facebook.com/dioceseofyork), Twitter (twitter.com/dioceseofyork) or Vimeo (vimeo.com/dioceseofyork). No login or membership is required for Vimeo.

Days off:  Friday - Sunday this week
As you know, I normally take Friday as my day off and have continued to do so during the lockdown. I would have been away on annual leave this week, but I intend to take some 'time out' from this Friday 1st May to Sunday 3rd May. Please note that emails or phonecalls during this time might not be answered very promptly.

Beware of a church offerings scam
There is a 'Church Scam' going around nationally. Scammers believe that churches are desperate for finance at this point and are asking their communities and congregations to help out.
If you receive a communication that appears to be from me or one of the Benefice churches requesting money by any means including an email like this one: pastor.office0147@gmail.com   DO NOT REPLY TO IT!

If you need help by way of doing some local shopping, please do get in touch with me. Or, if you just want to have a chat (or to pray together over the phone) please feel free to call me. Tel. 01723 448351

If for any reason you prefer not to be included on this mailing please just send me an email and I will remove yours from the list. Many thanks.

With blessings and prayers,
Tim
