Vicar's Newsletter for 2nd August

Dear all,

As you may have heard, from Saturday 8th August face coverings will be mandatory when attending worship in church.
In the meantime the C.of E. strongly advises worshippers to wear a face covering. As this is (until Saturday 8th) an advisory, it remains a matter of personal choice this week.
For obvious reasons there will not be a joint Benefice service held in any of our churches on 30th August.

Churches opening:
Some form of online worship will continue to be made available on Sundays via the All Saints Hunmanby website. It will be there tomorrow (Sunday 2nd) as usual. NB From next Sunday 9th August the service available online will be an audio recording from the live worship in All Saints Hunmanby the previous Sunday. However, you will not get the same service twice.

WILLERBY/STAXTON NEWS
There are no plans in place at this stage to open St. Peter's church for public worship.

When your parish church opens for worship, we would ask that you kindly follow all the guidance and directions given. This may include not being able to sit in your favourite place due to social distancing of 2m. Please be aware that our services will have a very different feel as the congregation will not be allowed to sing.

OFFERINGS
Some of the benefice churches have understandably experienced a significant reduction in income during the last 4 months. If you have saved up your weekly offerings we would be grateful if you could kindly place these in the receptacle inside the door as you arrive at church. Thank you. There will be no offering taken during the service.
Many thanks to all who kindly brought their saved-up weekly offerings last Sunday!

QUESTIONNAIRE
Thank you very much to the 25 or so people who have kindly either returned or responded to the questionnaire. A team has started discussing the findings and will give consideration to the various suggestions.

Why not link up at around 10.00am? Simply a suggestion.
