VERSES FOR THE WEEK
Mark 13 vs 26,31,32,36,37
Jesus said, “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!”

Breath Prayers for the Advent Season
As we did last year, here are some advent breath prayers to encourage all of us to draw nearer to God in this season.
WEEK 1 Advent Breath Prayer – HOPE
based on Psalm 130 verse 5
*** Breathe in: I wait for you, Lord ***
*** Breathe out: my hope is in Your word ***
Breath prayers are a modern adaptation of the ancient prayer of the heart. Breathe prayers fit easily into one breathe in and out.
This Christmas, take time to slow down and breathe deep and inhale the goodness and glory of God
Each week of advent there will be a different breath prayer for you to use.
Advent invites us to slow down and to believe that there's more to Christmas than just the loud noise of the season, more than the hustle and bustle of the crowds, more than the pressure to produce and perform and perfect.
Advent invites us to be still and trust that no matter how dark the dark of winter gets, there is a light that will shine in the darkness...that something, SomeOne greater is coming.
Advent is a season of hope, peace, love, and joy. There's nothing you have to do to make this a good Christmas. Christmas is good because Almighty God, our heavenly Father, gave us the greatest Good the world has ever known: Jesus.
Further information on Breath Prayers:
Breath Prayer is shaped by the action most essential to our lives: our very breath. It is our first action on the day we are born and our final act on the day that we die. Breath plays a central role in Scripture, too, from the very beginning in which God breathes life into human form and throughout the text, which Paul describes in 2 Timothy as “God-breathed.” Even the words for “spirit” in Hebrew (ruach) and Greek (pneuma)—the two languages in which the Bible was originally written—can also mean “breath.”
Breath Prayers is as informal as they come, requiring only a simple phrase and the breath you carry with you every moment throughout the day. While it is undoubtedly valuable when practiced in silence and solitude for an extended period of time (scientists say that 12 minutes of deep breathing each day is enough to transform the mind), it can also be practiced during everyday tasks, such as washing the dishes or commuting to work, allowing even the most mundane moments of the day to be whitewashed with the Sacred
Breath prayers are a modern adaptation of the ancient prayer of the heart. They help us keep God in the foreground amidst our daily living and clarify our relationship with the holy.
