Vicar's Newsletter for 20 February

Dear all,

'LIVING CHRIST'S STORY' VISION
Thank you to all who attended the open Deanery Synod meeting with Archdeacon Andy Broom held at St. Mark's Church on Wednesday 9th February. Over 100 people were present for what was a good start to the next stage of our deliberations.

The Deanery Leadership Team (DLT) has the task of devising the first stage of a 10-year plan by the summer. This will be presented to Deanery Synod at its July meeting. Over the next two or three months there will be a number of open coffee mornings arranged for lay folk to hear more about the Deanery, but more importantly to discuss and share what you think is important as we move forward together as a deanery.

Alongside this, the DLT is planning for each 'ministry unit' (in our case the 5 parishes of the Hertford Benefice) to hold a joint PCCs meeting that is also open to all church members. This will provide another opportunity to contribute your thoughts and ideas to the consultation process as we work towards an initial plan for the Scarborough Deanery.

For those who were not able to attend the 9th Feb. meeting I attach the powerpoint presentation given by the Archdeacon. Click link for Presentation  The powerpoint images will simply give a flavour of the things we are needing to address in the Diocese of York as we move forward.

CONSULTATION PRAYER

God our loving Father, you have called your Church into being in your love and strengthened us for your service. Guide and inspire us as we seek to re-shape our approach to mission and ministry in our diocese; that we may be a joyful Church of missionary disciples, one in heart and mind; for the sake of your kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Wearing of face coverings in church is now a matter of personal choice.

NB At All Saints Hunmanby the zone on the south aisle has alternate pews for those who wish to have more space.
